What time should my child arrive at school?          Your child may arrive at 7:15 in the morning?  He or she should go to the gym at that time.  Children are dismissed to go to their classrooms at 7:45. Should I let you know if my child’s method of transportation changes?          Yes!  I maintain a record of each child’s method of transportation in the afternoons.  If for any reason this should change, for one afternoon, or for the remainder of the year, please send a note in your child’s take-home folder on that day.  The principal must approve notes for bus changes.  This is extremely important for your child’s safety. How can I celebrate my child’s birthday at school?          It is the school’s policy not to use instructional time to celebrate birthdays.  Parents who wish to celebrate their child’s birthday at school are asked to do so in an alternative manner.  You may send cupcakes or cookies during lunchtime or snack.  Other suggestions include joining us on your child’s birthday to read aloud a picture book, and/or joining us for lunch.  Please mail or deliver all party invitations to your child’s friends at their homes. Can I stop by anytime for a conference?          Conferences have to be scheduled.  I will contact you when I feel the need for a conference or if at anytime, you would like to schedule additional meeting, you may do so by calling me at school or sending a note with your child.  Telephone conferences can also be arranged.  The office will not allow you to come to my classroom during the  day without an appointment.  Please let me know ahead of time if you are coming to volunteer or if you need to see me. Back to Top
